Integrated fitness key to new Power Plate solution

Performance Health Systems has developed a programming solution which allows its ‘Power Plate’ vibration exercise equipment to be integrated with other training modalities – such as ViPR, kettlebells and suspension training – for a combined workout.

An entirely new functional training zone can be created with the complete Power Plate integrated fitness package, which comprises a compass mat, a freestanding banner with key exercises pictured and QR codes that can be used to upload instructional videos.

The workouts show how to incorporate suspension training, kettlebells, ViPR and HIIT into a whole body vibration training routine.

Gyms with existing Power Plate equipment can position it alongside the new compass mat and place selected equipment within easy reach to encourage members to try the combined workout.

London health club Roko at Chiswick Bridge has already taken up the new concept. “Integrating Power Plate into our functional area has drawn interest from people keen to try vibration training while giving existing Power Plate fans a whole new set of exercise options to keep them inspired and challenged,” said general manager Phil Williams.

Performance Health Systems says its recently-launched Power Plate pro5HP is a “particularly good” model to use in functional training, with its column-free design allowing for 360 degree range of motion around the plate surface. It also offers integration with other equipment and enables a full range of static, dynamic and plyometric exercises.

The equipment manufacturer said it would give on-site training to gym instructors to get them up to speed with the new programmes, in preparation for training their members.
